Bacteriostatic Water is sterile Water for Injection containing 0.9% benzyl alcohol, a bacteriostatic preservative. It is the standard diluent used to reconstitute lyophilized research peptides, and the benzyl alcohol inhibits bacterial growth so a reconstituted vial can support multi-dose use within recommended in-house windows after the first puncture.
