Pairing it with CJC-1295 without DAC brings a second receptor into the design. That analogue — commonly listed as Modified GRF (1-29) — is a 29-residue GHRH fragment carrying four substitutions that block dipeptidyl peptidase-4 cleavage, and it acts at the GHRH receptor rather than the ghrelin receptor. Because the two receptors sit on the same somatotroph and are regulated differently, co-administration is used to study whether the responses combine additively. GHRP-2 itself is a synthetic hexapeptide, D-Ala-D-2-Nal-Ala-Trp-D-Phe-Lys-NH2, also catalogued as pralmorelin and KP-102. It belongs to the growth hormone-releasing peptide series that predated the discovery of ghrelin, the compounds whose orphan receptor was later identified as GHS-R1a, and it carries three non-standard residues, two of them D-amino acids, which is what gives a six-residue sequence workable stability. In the 10 mg vial it is co-lyophilized with CJC-1295 (No DAC) at 5 mg of each: a 1:1 mass ratio that supplies roughly four molecules of the hexapeptide for every one of the GHRH analogue, given masses of 817.97 and 3367.93 g/mol.
